We are a small private club located in the Essex town of Waltham Abbey.

Trips we make are generally to South East and South coast locations , however once a year the club organises a week long trip and at this time we travel to more distant ports.

In 1990 our ex-club secretary John Wheatley decided to arrange a social outing for colleagues at the company he worked for. The outing was a fishing trip, it was so successful that 8 of the participants decided that they would like to repeat the exercise. A deposit was taken and trips were booked for the next year ahead.

Sadly the firm closed down, people moved away, however a few wanted to continue fishing. John found a couple more friends who were interested in taken part in the trips and it was decided to formalise the whole thing by creating a club. This took place in 1992, the club was named "The Waltham Abbey Sea Angling Club".

The numbers have risen and fallen over the years and the present membership stands at nine, most of whom live in the Waltham Abbey area.
